Hi, I have an M1 Macbook Air (Late 2020) on macOS 11.6. I have problems using Windows 11 ARM (Insider) with Parallels Desktop 17.1.0 (51516). I retried multiple installation multiple times. Steps: 1) Download "Windows11_InsiderPreview_Client_ARM64_en-us_22483.VHDX" from Microsoft Insider. 2) Finish Installation in Parallels Desktop ("productivity"). I've noticed that with the latest version of Parallels Desktop Windows 11 is selected automatically and the TMP module is integrated automatically. 3) Launching Windows 11 VM. Problem: After all installations, Windows 11 is launching, the Start Menu is displayed properly and Edge Browser or Windows Explorer can be launched. System control panel cannot be launched from start menu or else. Event viewer (launched with right click on start menu) shows multiple errors: "The Windows Search service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 10 time(s)." "The server {B52D54BB-4818-4EB9-AA80-F9EACD371DF8} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout." and the warning "The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54} and APPID {15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402} to the user redacted\redacted SID (redacted) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool." Do you please have a hint?
Update: I have just found the fix: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...rminated/a867776a-c620-4cb8-b48a-8272d943440a I had to add the DWORD_32 with Value 0 at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search\SetupCompletedSuccessfully
It's the same for me. I'm also not able to open the Windows Update menu... also very often the Explorer just quits... I already opened a ticket... Is this then the rule - everytime Win 11 ARM gets an update Parallels Desktop will not work properly any longer?
I'm watching https://forum.parallels.com/threads...-parallels-stops-functioning-properly.355146/ closely. For me, although I couldn't use MS Edge or the System Control Panel, it's possible to copy .exe-files to the machine (like Chrome-Installer) and use the machine somehow within these limits.
The provided solution worked for me. Maybe Parallels Installer was automatically trying to set the language to German. Right Button on Windows-Button -> Windows Terminal (Admin) Set-WinSystemLocale en-US Set-WinUserLanguageList en-US -Force Reboot => Working fine for me. Thread can be closed.
