Yes. I've followed the instructions in the Parallels site, troubleshooting articles, and instruction manual with no success. I cannot connect to the internet via Parallels at all and am losing productivity (work) as a result.

"Bridged" connection does not work, nor "Shared", nor "Host" Only. OS X 10.4 connects fine via Comcast cable. The correct IP address is shown in Windows XP settings in Parallels, yet IE will not connect, nor Outlook.

I upgraded to 3.0 hoping this would solve the problem with no success. Can someone please help? Many thanks.

    Hello,

    did you use this article?
Please go to the Apple ->System Preferences ->Network menu.
What colour is Parallels NAT port status indicator?
Also could you please tell me what build of Parallels Desktop are you using?

    Best regards,
    Stacey

    Thanks Stacy

Yes, I used the article and tried all the settings options with no success. I finally had some success by going into Kaspersky's security software and unchecking a box in their settings under "anti-hacker" that involved "DNS" access. This allowed me to connect using IE, however, now I've lost the capability of dragging and dropping files between the 2 OS desktops for some reason. The mouse cursor had crossed over the boundary between the two OS desktops before... but now it stops at the edge of the Windows XP window and thus I can't drag the file across to move it. Nor can I copy and paste the files to move them from desktop to desktop.

If you can provide any help to resolve this it would be appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Ana

    Another thing...

I've also tried to switch to Coherence mode to see if this could solve the problem of not being able to drag and/or copy files between the OS's. But when I try to access the Windows XP start menu, for example, the cursor disappears and reappears elsewhere on my screen (jumping erratically). Thus I cannot open IE using Coherence because I can't even open the Windows start menu.

I paid for telephone support and the tech tried a lot of things that did not solve the problem. I still have an open ticket but could not get through on the phone yesterday (one ring and the line would go dead). After your tech's work (he was in my machine remotely), I notice that a "Shared Folder" option in my configuration window is now completely gone. Do I need to add a shared folder option to Parallels config? If this the problem?

I'm running Mac OS 10.4.10, Windows XP Pro, on an intel iMac 24". I use Windows to run only two applications required for my work... Calyx Point, and Internet Explorer. Everything else that I do is done only in the Mac OS.

    Your help is appreciated.

    Hello,

did you try to re-install Parallels Tools?
What do you mean saying that Shared Folder option in your configuration window is completely gone? It is not listed in the Configuration Editor?

    Best regards,
    Stacey

    To Stacy

    Hi Stacy,

Your responses are appreciated! I have not uninstalled and reinstalled Tools. There is no documentation that I could find that even tells me how to do this without reinstalling the entire Parallels application.

If you are recommending that I reinstall Tools, then would you please also provide the instructions on exactly how to do this? "Add Programs" in Windows XP doesn't allow one to install from a download file and would require a CD. I don't have a CD for Parallels 3.0 because I downloaded the upgrade online. I also no way to do a custom installation of Tools only in the Parallels installer.

Would you please provide the exact steps to take, plus any other steps I should take so that I can fix this problem without having to spend multiple days and e-mails to solve the problem?

    Many thanks,
    Ana
