Question for Windows Insider members with experience before M1 Macs

This is my first experience being part of the Windows Insider Program and I have a question. I have not activated my Windows 11 for ARM install under Parallels 17. (My current Windows license is for the non-ARM version of Windows 10, which I found out would not activate the Insider Version of Windows 10 for ARM because the Insider Program download is the PRO version of Windows 10.)
From what I have read, if you have a licensed and activated version of Windows 10 on your computer, the upgrade to Windows 11 will be at no cost. How does this effect the people who are part of the Insider Program and have the ARM version of Windows 10? And what about if you upgraded to Windows 11 for ARM like I did?
Sorry if these questions sound stupid but I really have no idea the easiest/best way to eventually end up with a properly activated version of Windows 11 for ARM. (And yes, I do realize that so far Microsoft has not acknowledged that it will sell Windows 11 for ARM except with new ARM devices.)

Is your existing license (Intel version) linked to a Microsoft Outlook account? If not, that is the first step. You will need to associate your existing windows machine or instance with your Outlook account (wherever this license is installed). Once you have done that you link your Windows 10 ARM instance with the same account. Once both instances show up in your devices tab in Outlook, you can go to the ARM instance and say change key. At that point it will show you a list of devices - the same list from the outlook devices tab. You select one of them and that should do it. Worst case you may have to purchase a pro license from somewhere but you can cross that bridge later.

 

Thanks for the information. I never set up a "outlook account" just a Microsoft account and had no issues activating my Intel Windows 8 and then Windows 10 installations. I have not attempted with the ARM versions as they are apparently based on the Windows 10 PRO and Windows 11 PRO versions, which I - to this point - do not have a license/activation key.
