    Hi,

I just upgraded to Parallels 17 and my Windows 10 Pro installation will not boot up. I am running Mac High Sierra OS. Windows is behaving inconsistently. It is currently stuck at the "Welcome" screen, but other times it mostly boots up, except that the taskbar is not fully rendered, and nothing works.

    Please help.

    Thanks,
    Constantine

Hi, please follow the steps given to check on the issue:
    1. Take a Snapshot, refer here.
    2. Force restart your Windows virtual machine, refer here.

    Hi Anand,

Thanks for the instructions. Regarding #2: I reset Windows and I could not tell that anything happened. I waited several minutes and still nothing. So, I used the "Shutdown" process to close it.

Regarding #1, Windows does not start, so I don't understand the purpose of taking a snap shot. I have a snapshot from before the upgrade. I tried "Revert to snapshot". It seems to display a Windows screen (as a window within the Mac OS) that is just a graphic with no functionality. So, I switched to view full screen mode. It now shows that the Parallels Tools are installing, but it is stuck at 15% and nothing on the screen works. It is like a static graphic of my Windows 10 desktop. I switched back to the Mac OS in order to write this text. When I switch back to Windows 10, all I get is a black screen. Again I reset Windows 10, but it is stuck now at the welcome screen again.

    Thanks,
    Constantine
