I'm new to Parallels and am having problems installing the Window OS. Below is as far as I can get. I have a valid copy of XP and a serial number. Does anyone have any pointers to the problem?

The message appears when I am installing the DMG file when following the steps you suggested. So I've not been able to install the windows yet. Can I ask is there a difference between a version of Window XP that ships with a laptop and a retail version? Thanks for your help on this.
keno, may be there is the problem with the installation disk? As far as I know usually when Windows CD ships with a laptop, it is not an installation disk, but the repair disk that can be used only on the laptop. Best regards, Stacey
I basically using the CD's that came with my Sister's PC laptop, maybe that is the problem. If I need to buy a XP installation disk do I just look for retail version of XP?
Yes, it is possible reason for such a problem. It is better to buy a Full Retail version of Windows. Best regards, Stacey
