I am a parallels customers for many years and recently I am having some major performance issues. I have read KB articles and have done all the necessary steps to address the issue and it has not worked. I have also reached out to apple for support and they did diagnosis on my machine and came to the conclusion that Parallels is eating up my CPU usage. I have a very powerful MacBook Pro 2018 with 6 processors and 32M of RAM. right now I have 3 processors dedicated to Parallels and 8G of RAM (all based on your KB). I am really not running much applications on my MAC and it is come to the point, if I am on a zoom or teams meeting my computer become unusable because everything is so slow. My CPU usage is like almost 100%. It is effecting my work now. I tried to call your help line and it does not work. NOT impressed with parallels support.

Anyone else having performance issues like me. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have same issue. I am literally not able to use Windows and when Windows is turned ON, I cannot even use MacOS.

Hello, we're sorry to hear that you're unhappy with the Parallels Desktop app and Parallels Support also.
    And we're here to help.
Could you provide us with your Parallels Desktop version, your macOS version, with a screenshots of the Activity Monitor and Task Manager (once the issue reproduced).
Also could you collect the tech report once the issue reproduced and post the report's ID here please?

Hello, what are your Parallels Desktop and macOS versions?
Does the issue reoccurs once you start Parallels Desktop or Windows VM or any specific application inside your Windows VM?

    Hi Maria,
I have MacOS Big Sur 11.0.1. The problem was there with Catalina also. The issue starts when I start Windows and after that I cannot even use MacOS until I find a way to terminate Windows.

Thank you for your reply. Did you try to create an empty VM and add the hard drive from your current VM to the new one?
Please check this KB article if you didn't try this solution.

    Hi Maria,

I'm also experiencing very slow performance of Windows 10 on Parallels Desktop 16. Admittedly it's an old VM that was initially on Windows 8, then migrated to Windows 10. I tried to create a new Windows 10 VM from scratch and performances there were better.
How do I "rewrap" my Windows 10 hdd into a brand new VM? I tried the suggestion above and was able to add the hdd to the new VM, but that's not what I want. And when I changed the boot order of that VM to start with the old hdd and not to load the new one, it just crashed.
