I have heard that only Windows 98 Second Edition will work with Parallels. Is this true? Or can I use First Edition?

    Hello,

you can use Windows 98 First Edition, but the problem is that the Windows 98 FE disk is not bootable, so it will be quite hard to install it.

    Best regards,
    Stacey

Ok thank you. Is there any way to make it bootable? I think it is an upgrade disk, but if I bought a copy of Windows 95 and then upgraded, would that work?

Have you already tried these instructions to see if they work for you? I know these instructions are for 98SE, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with for 98FE. (Also, the part in the instructions about making a donation is entirely optional; it's more of a good will gesture.)

    Hi,

I tried those instructions, and they worked, but the Upgrade disc I have I got from someone else, and I don't have a copy of Windows 95 or 3.1 or DOS or whatever, so I can't use it. But if I do get a copy someday, I will definitely use those instructions. Good work!
