Hi. I have a few questions:

I own Parallels version 9 but haven't used it in years, but I'm thinking of upgrading to version 16. However, I downloaded the trial version and I'm having some issues. I have a Windows 7 installation DVD, but Parallels isn't recognizing it. Should it? Is there any troubleshooting I can do?

I've also been hoping that after I install Windows 7 that i can get a free upgrade to Windows 10. Does anyone know if that's still possible? According to an article on ZDNet it is.

    Thanks!

    Sky

I should add that I used the same Windows 7 Installation DVD back in 2013 with Parallels version 9 and it worked fine.

Me again. Somehow I figured out how to get Parallels 16 to install Windows 7. The installer is running now. But I'm wondering: is there a way for me to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 under Parallels and use my Windows 7 key for the Windows 10 activation? I've read online that Microsoft will still accept the product key for Windows 10 if installing over Windows 7. However, I wasn't sure if Parallels would allow me to install Windows 10 that way.

Me once more. I was able to activate Windows 10 using my Windows 7 product key, so all is well.
