I've been surfing around here and didn't see anybody with a build # as old as my # 1848.2 so I needed to start a new thread.

I've got an MacBook and have been using build # 1848.2 without too many problems (which is why I didn't upgrade), why mess up something that is working.

But now that I've installed Leopard I'm having some issues.

    1. The parallels window is graphically challenged. The colors all run together, there is code in the background and it looks like sephia on acid hell. This make navigating and reading anything on the screen pretty much impossible.

    2. I tried to upgrade the build but when I click the "check for updates" under the help menu and activate the search for updates the window "Please wait while Parallels Desktop is checking for updates." never shows any progress never gets me an update. Thankfully at least there is a cancel button to get me out of there.

Do I need to buy another new up to date version of parallels or can I just upgrade for free?

Will an upgrade or new build erase my previous programs on Windows XP Home?

    Your help is appreciated.

    Hello,

Here's the direct download link for 3214 build. It won't erase anything.

Here is also a thread about known issues with Leopard. We'll release the next update for Parallels 2.5 that will be fully compatible with Leopard soon.

    Best regards,
    Alicia.

Is there any uninstalling of #1848.2 or just installing of the update?

BTW, Thanks a bunch for the download link.

Actually I'm quite surprised that yoг are still on 1848.2 :)

You can try to just update your version without uninstalling it.

    Best regards,
    Alicia.

    Problem solved.

Downloaded build # 3214 directly from the link that you provided above and installed it without a hitch. Everything is working as it was before with nothing lost.

I also received a prompt to upgrade to the newer 3.0 version for $49 which I will investigate further when I have more time.

I'm a little confused about which version I'm running (build # vs 2.5/3.0 version).

I also had an issue with the registration since it couldn't find my email address or login/password but I just registered with my latest info and so far so good.

Thanks for your timely help that solved my problem in record time. Great Job!!!

BTW, I have both Parallels as well as Boot Camp and I find myself using Parallels more often so that I can toggle between my Safari browser and Mac OS and Parallels without having to reboot. Now if there was just a way to improve the size of the Parallels window I would be completely content.

You currently have the latest build for your PD version (3214 for version 2.5).

    Best regards,
    Alicia.

Is Build 3214 still available for download. I have Build 1848.2 and finally upgraded to Mac OS 10.5, Leopard. I am having the same issue that DallasJayhawk had in Nov. 2007 when he upgraded to Leopard. At that time Alicia on the Parallels Team provided a direct link to download Build 3214. This corrected the problem for DallasJayhawk. I tried the link but it does not work for me.

    Thank You!

Do you still have your download of Build 3214 that you got from Parallels in Nov. 2007? The link that they provided you no longer works and I am having the same problem you had.
