Cannot understand why on my Parallels Pro 16. ( Installed on up to date MAC Catalina with 24 Gigs RAM) will not install. Nothing I found in the Knowledge Base explains this. Therefore cannot install next Windows 10 version 2004. ( Which says it is ready to install)

    How do I overcome this?

Not sure I know how to do that Screenshot) because it first shows up during the attempts by windows to install the cumulative update during the "reboot process". When download of the cumulative update is finished and it "installs", the windows virtual machine requires a "reboot". I allow that and it seems to install just fine, BUT. after a while the device says " Cannot install- some parts not there" (or something to that effect as it seems to pass quickly) then the system automatically backs out the update, and reboots itself. Then I have the older windows system. If I reboot ( the virtual machine, shut down and then open the virtual machine or even reboot the entire MAC), I still get the original problem again and again. Some updates ( probably virus system updates) still do install, but the cumulative updates and also the update to Win 10 version 2004. never do.

I'll try to get a screen shot right after I write this, but as noted- don't think I can.

Did the update again. I took 3 screenshots using MAC. As you can see it is stuck on the 8.2020 cumulative update. I took 3 shots to show you the download, The "Restart" to complete the 8/2020 cumulative update and the message that shows during the restart saying it could not be completed and the update was being backed out.

I have updated many times since this Parallels and Win 10 were installed. Have no idea why a parallel's update is shown, and especially why an HP update dated 2009 is showing since I installed the printer and updated many times in the past two years and this never showed before.

( I just tried to upload the three screenshots. Biggest was 4 megs. smallest was 1.1 Megs. EVEN THE SMALLEST cannot be loaded- your system says "file too large")

Is there some way to make the screenshots smaller to allow them to be uploaded?

We suggest you use Actions > Take Snapshot then uninstall Parallels Tools from the control panel and try to do the update. You can reinstall Parallels Tools, using Actions > Reinstall Parallels Tools after Windows update is complete.

I did exactly as you suggested. Deleted Parallels Tools then rebooted the Windows acct Logged on as Administrator. Verified that parallels tools was fine. Then checked updates and allowed the 8/2020 cumulative update to install. It did exactly as before. Appeared to install, but when the system called for reboot - it stopped installation and said it was de-installing the update and restoring the Windows without it. I took 3 Screenshots and will attach FYI. What next?

Could you update your Parallels Desktop 16 to the latest build 16.0.1.
Then please reproduce the issue and collect the technical report data right after that.
    Looking forward to your reply.

I updated Parallels to 16.0.1 as requested. Next opened Parallels and logged on to Administrative acct on Win 10. Ran updated. It went directly to .Net and Cumulative 1909 update for September not August. Went fine, Downloaded and installed both then required restart. I allowed restart and it seemed to be installing BUT then. said. could not complete the install and it was backing our the update - keep computer on. I did some screenshots and sent you a Technical Data Report generated right after as you requested. The report generated a #: 349307230

I deinstalled Parallels toolbox from My Windows machine as you suggested several posts ago. The Windows updates did not install then either. HOWEVER: Now I cannot reinstall Parallels toolbox on my Windows Virtual machine. It keeps insisting on my CD, BUT yMy account license for 16 was not on a CD. I installed the toolbox on my virtual machine using a download, BUT it requires an activation key. I pay for a subscription and the "KEY" on my acct is missing the middle entries, ) Not is it apparently downloadable). You need to tell me my activation key please.

Also. the problem STILL persists. The Windows Virtual machine will STILL not install the September ( or August). cumulative updates. I have 16.0.1 installed and it doesn't work for the installation. How do I prove to you that I have an active PAID account for Parallels so I can get my activation key to install the Toolkit on ny Vittual machine? I am attaching the just received attempt to install the updates to my windows machine that was a failure.
