My Windows 7 pvm has grown significantly over time for various reasons. I just cleaned up the Windows 7 directories and 'emptied' the trash hoping to free up many gigs for my Mac OS. I tried 'free up disk space' in the parallels desktop 'file' menu. I highlighted the pvm. It told me it could save 128+gig, but only the 'Resume' button is active. Following what I thought it was telling me, I 'resumed' and then 'quit' windows. The 'reclaim' button did not become active. What am I doing wrong? I'd like to get those gigs back for my mac!
I was able to complete the 'reclaim' by leaving the pvm open. Then the 'reclaim' button was active. When I clicked it, it said the pvm had to be closed, did I want to let it do it. I said 'yes'. It closed the pvm, went into the reclaim mode, and completed it successfully, Don't know why it wouldn't do it if I closed the pvm, but whatever. Mission accomplished.
