Hi, I recently bought a macally ICEkey keaybord. It works very fine in mac OS X. However when I switch to Pll's I get some problems: the '<' gets swopped with the '^' key the '>' gets swopped with the '°' key I tried to make the OS recognize the keyboard but alas it will not work in Pll's. Again the keyboard works very fine in Mac OS X 10.4.10. Can anybody help? I need the <> as I programme stylesheets in XML ... thanks Matthias Mac pro 2 x core 2 duo 2,66 Ghz Mac OSX 10.4.10 PLL's 3 Build 5160
Hello, could you please in Windows go to 'Start' -> 'Settings' -> 'Control Panel' -> 'Keyboard' -> 'Hardware' tab and tell me what devices do you have there? Also please tell me what configurations do you have in these cases: 1. Mac OS X: open Language->Open International window-> Input Menu and find out what layouts you are using. 2. Windows XP: open Control Panel->Regional and Language Options->Languages->Details->Installed Services, where you can find the layout. Best regards, Stacey
Keyboard Layout Hi, win: in Hardware manager (win): extended PC/AT-PS/2 Keayboard (101/102 keys) in regional Settings and lanuages --> services are: Arabic, German, English Mac: language --> Intl settings: German alone I had to get all out of German OS's so if any info is not accurate enough please let me know. cheers, Matthias P.S. I first installed some software for the keyboard. I later uninstalled it.
Matthias, could you please in tell me if in Control Panel->Regional and Language Options->Languages->Details->Language Bar you have 'Show the Language bar on the Desktop' checked? Best regards, Stacey
Matthias, it is a known issue of German keyboards. Try to use 'Alt Gr' or 'Ctrl + Alt' with different buttons. Please pay special attention to number-keys. Best regards, Stacey
German Keyboards So this known issue applies to all keyboards or just to third party manufacturers? I did not have any problems with the normal mac keyboard at all. I need to get a new keyboerd as my mac keayboard is worn out. what do you advice? Will there be a fix in near future? thanks, Matthias
Matthias, by default Parallels Desktop emulates US-keyboard, which differs from European keyboards. There are two ways to solve this problem. 1. As I mentioned above, you can use 'Alt Gr' or you can go 'Parallels Desktop' -> 'Preferences' -> 'Keyboard' and check 'Translate Num Enter to Alt Gr'. Than you can use Num Enter instead of Alt Gr. 2. You can remap your keyboard. The instructions you can find here. Best regards, Stacey
You know this is rather rediciolous. If you cannot really map a German keyboard tell your customers beforehand! Tell me which keyboard really works in German. I need a hardware list of compatible keyboards! In production I cannot afford to have a known bug that is not resolved. Akeyboard ahs to work PERIOD!
Actually you lied to me as a customer. Pll's did not tell me that this rather small but important matter an interface problem does not work! I am losing time and and money because the Alt-Gr does not work at all! This key needs to be functional in Windows fully in all European language ... or is the scope of American programming only as wide as the needs of the US customers. Then tell me beforehand! I feel like being thrown back to the middle ages here!
