Vulkan Support (add app titles in the comments)

Now that DX11 is implemented, I'm wondering how easy it would be to implement Vulkan support as well (for games like Doom 2016 etc.)?

 

I'd like to add that as a developer, I could really benefit from Vulkan support. Being able to stay on Mac OS while I code in Visual Studio inside of the Windows VM, compile on both platforms, and test on both platforms, would be a major, major, major productivity booster. Even if I don't get every feature or exact accuracy, that's fine. As long as it's stable and lets me run dev tools, I'm good.

There's one application in particular that I'd definitely like to see work well: RenderDoc. It's an invaluable development tool for introspecting and debugging a graphics pipeline. I'm willing to bet that Parallels' developers probably use it!

MoltenVK is a Vulkan -> Metal API translation layer for macOS that already works quite well. Perhaps this could be used as a springboard for Vulkan support within Windows guests on a macOS host. Although I'm sure you're already aware of this, I figured it's worth mentioning.

 

It will go a long way for Parallels Desktop and Windows gaming to support Vulkan. A number of titles requiring Vulkan are not ported to OS/X, but are still solely Windows (or Windows+Linux).

This would greatly help my productivity too.

 

Signed up to voice my desire for Vulkan Support as well. I wouldn't be surprised if it out performed DirectX in some games, especially if Parallels could incorporate something similar to MoltenVK.

 

Also no Man's Sky needs Vulkan, It will be great if this is supported in the future.

Please AMD VULKAN Driver Support for Parallels Video Adapter

 

I would like to voice my desire for this as well. Being able to ensure that my program compiles on both Mac and Windows without having to restart my machine would really be a life saver. Why would I use parallels if I need to restart my machine to try something on Windows? That sort of defeats the purpose of a VM.

 

I'd also request the ability for access to Vulkan via Parallels, whether MoltenVK or otherwise.

I'd love to run Doom 2016 in Parallels on my Mac... Vulkan or D3D support... I bought it, but have no way to run it... been waiting for compatibility to catch up
