    hi all,
yes, this topic may exist in some stage already, but after about 2 hrs trying to get a cd out of my drive, i go mad.
running a imac, installed xp, did go well, took about two times to eject installation cd, than, installed an application under windows (thats why i bought parallels), did go fine, works grant.
but, cd won't eject, either in windows nor in osx, it always re-boot the cd in the drive.
even tried open firmware in osx, nothing.
windows the same, well not into xp, but tried my best.
my drive does not have an "emergency" button as other macs may have.
so, any solutions? kind of need that drive for osx....

    Hello,

did you try to right-click on the CD in Mac and to choose 'Eject'?

    Best regards,
    Stacey

    i did

    hi,

    well i tried this too.
meanwhile i think it's a problem with the drive.
tried to get the disk out a few times, opened the fabrics on the drive with a bit of plastic and than eject the cd, did work.
bought this imac as refurbished, nmay this is one of the ones which hads trouble with the drive, searched the apple support forum and was surprised to find loads of queries like mine. it may was time for this problem and has nothing to do with parellels and xp at all. anyway, got the cd out and tried (of course) other cd, works, tried again, did not work.
thought the autorun.ini on the cd which caused trouble is the faulty part on it, because even in osx it won't eject and finally told me, cd is in use (something like that) because autorun.ini is active, so could be a problem with the cd too.
as i said, seems it sometimes is ok, and the next cd got stuck again, maschine goes back to the dealer tomorrow to sort out drive as mentioned in apple discussions.

    thanks for the reply....

    now,

i tried a few times because i still think its not the drive, even when i know some apple drives cause trouble.
all other cd/dvd eject perfect in parallels and osx.
i checked the predicular cd, the autorun.ini must be faulty, osx tells me the autorun is in use.
must be the cd because all other works.
i came behind it, because i removed parallels and windows and the cd came up on the osx desktop but than won't eject either....
well, seems my problem is sorted somehow...

    thanks anyway

    Hello,

did you try to use this CD on other Macs?
If the problem is with the disk, you should contact disk producer.

    Best regards,
    Stacey
