I am using a relatively obscure opengl app and trying to boot it under parallels. It complains of "Program can't enable Vertical Sync. Please do it in the the OpenGL settings of your graphic card." this usually happens when the specific card isn't supported by the software. However the REAL card (on a macbook pro) IS supported by the software, but maybe the parallels architecture isn't supporting it. is there a way to adjust vertical sync either in the config of the VM (in parallels) or in the Display Control Panel (usually there is a graphics-card specific or Advanced tab that has opengl config.
Could you give us more information? Hello, timdiggins, OpenGL vertical sync. is generally supported by the Parallels. We'd like to have more information to analyze your problem. 1. What OS do you use? 2. Which program are you trying to boot? 3. Could you give us the direct link on the software you use? 4. When exactly do you get the error message? 5. Could you send the error message screenshot on my PM?
Windows XP as guest, Mac 10.4.10 on MacBook Pro as Host, "eStudio" by Brainstorm Multimedia SA (It's a realtime 3d studio design program - I'm mainly developing in it, so don't have major 3d demands, but need to do small tests - it does have a macos version, but I'm doing some windows integration features) www.brainstorm.es is the company who make it when you start up the software. You then get the typical behaviour of this software without full opengl hardware support. The error message (exactly as I typed in my Original message) is displayed in the console (cmd.exe output) and as a custom dialog. Not very helpful I think
Hello timdiggins, Sorry I couldn't give you quick answer. Parallels' programmers are analyzing your issue. I'll let you know as soon as I get the information. Best regards, Xenos
