Hey, im trying to get a parallels virtual machine running with my Windows Partition. I didnt installed the Windows Partition with boot camp. It is installed speratly by normal Windows Installation way. (Bootable Windows ISO). I start parallels, click "new", then following the steps for the "boot camp" virtual machine, everything Looks fine. Then the proceed starts to create a virual machine and the Status bar starts to move. When its 1/4 finished the window is flashing for a short time and the Status bar goes back to Zero. I tryed this a few times and I also waited more than 2 hours.. Nothing happens. Can someone help me? Thank you
Hi @Fabian2 , please perform SFC scan on your native bootcamp and try adding the virtual machine once again and check if that works.
Ok i will try this today. Thank you very much! So its not needed that Windows is installed with the "mac bootcamp installer" is that right?
Yes, you can create a standalone Windows virtual machine directly on the Mac without a Bootcamp partition.
