I am running Parallels 3.0 (build 4128) on a MacBook OSX 10.4.10. When I attempt to connect a USB device (Garmin GPS unit), I get a message asking if I'd like to automatically connect the device to the viertual machien. After clicking "yes", I get an error message that the device is in use by another application.

I receive this message even though no applications are running, other than the Parallels 3.0 application (none inside the virtual machine).

    Any hints?

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately in this case that trick doesn't help. (I've 5160 installed)

Ensure you have the latest Garmin map Source s/w.

I had the same prob until I plugged the garmin in to the second usb port on the keyboard - windows detected the garmin device.

Then realized that I loaded the orig map source disks which are obsolete - goto garmin d/l & install the latest ver. and bingo - everything works fine.
