Activation Problem

    I purchased my new copy of Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac today. I installed and started the program and it is asking for an activation code. Where is this code? It is not on the CD sleeve or any literature in the box. This was (of course) a brand new copy purchased from a big box retailer.

    Am I missing something? Any help or guidance will be greatly apreciated.

    Still no activation key

    I have been through everything and the only answer I can come up with is that my copy of Parallels was distributed without the activation key. Nothing on the CD sleeve and nothing in the box. The User Manual states that the key is on the CD sleeve. A little disappointing since I drove 90 miles one way to by the software!

    A help will be appreciated if I am missing something.

    Hello,

    your activation code should be written on a sticker which is on a manual or on a CD-cover. Isn't there any?

    There is nothing. The CD sleeve is just plain white with nothing and there is nothing in or on the manual. This was not a copy that I bought online or at a flea market. This is a copy purchased brand new and shrink wrapped at CompUSA.

    Activation Key

    Can Parallels provide an activation key?

    I can make the trip to return trip but would like to avoid if possible.

    ceacha, please, check for the activation key once more - look for it on the last page of the manual. If there's nothing too then you should probably contact with your retailer, describe your situation and ask if there were any mistake.

    I returned the software to CompUSA and got another copy yesterday. The new copy had a sticker on the CD sleeve as the user manual stated and I activated the software. I was trying to avoid the long drive but just decided to cut my losses and make the return trip.

    It appears that this was just a quality control problem and the package left the factory without an activation key. It would have been nice if Parallels could have just emailed me a key.

    It's great that you have this problem solved. I'm really sorry that you had to have this trouble with the return trip but when distributors take product units from us, they become responsible for them firstly, so the first channel you should apply for in case of some trouble like you had is the retailer. Anyway, I hope it's ok now, thank you for using Parallels.
