Installation and activation of software went smoothly. Initial set up of recommended VM also went smoothly, setting up initial boot sequence via CD Rom so I could instal Windows Xp. Frustratingly... each time I try to "power up" the VM, the screen goes black & white with a message directing me to press and hold power switch and restart computer (in english, french, german, japanese, etc...). Doing so, and restarting has no effect. Each time I try to turn on VM... if fails in same manner. PLEASE HELP!

    hi,
what version of Parallels did you install (product version and build version)? PD 3.0 build 5160 mostly stable now if it possible - update your Parallels version.

    Check Build / Version

1848.2, June 2006 confirmed. Why does it continue to prompt me to restart when I attempt to power up the VM? Again, instal went smoothly. Even running and setting up VM goes smoothly. It crashes with this black/white screen prompting to re-start only when powering up the VM...

    Teri,
it seems you using too old Parallels Desktop version. Try to update it (select "Help->Check for updates" item from Parallels menu)

    Teri,
you need to pay to upgrade from Build 1848 to 5160. Build 1848 is... Old.
