I installed earlier version of Parallels desktop long time ago and had Windows XP and 7 running on it. After upgraded to High Sierra, it would not start. So I upgraded to version 13. Still would not start. Getting "Unable to start Parallels services" error.
Tried solution in this article, but that was not the problem: http://kb.parallels.com/en/124001
    Sent problem report 231390220

    Wondering what happens next.

Hello Igor11, please follow as suggested below:

1.Launch the Terminal application located in Applications > Utilities
2.Paste the command below into Terminal, then hit Return:
    sudo launchctl stop com.parallels.desktop.launchdaemon
3.You may need to type your Mac password and hit Return (you will not see characters while typing)
4.Copy and paste the following command, then hit Return to start Parallels Service:
    sudo launchctl start com.parallels.desktop.launchdaemon
5.Try to start Parallels Desktop application or a virtual machine and see if this helps.

If still, the issue persists, then follow the steps given below:

    1.Please open Disk Utility (/Applications/Utilities/).
*Select your Mac OS X startup volume (Macintosh HD by default) in the column on the left of the Disk Utility window, then click the First Aid tab.
*Click the Repair Disk Permissions button.
2.Reset Home folder permissions and ACLs using this article.
3.Add Parallels Desktop in the Firewall and Privacy exception:
    *Open System Preferences.
*Click the Security or Security & Privacy icon.
*Select the Privacy tab > Accessibility.
*Click the lock icon in the preference pane, then enter an administrator name and password.
*Drag and drop Parallels Desktop app (/Applications/Parallels Desktop) in the Allow the apps below to control your computer box.
    *Select the Firewall tab.
    *Click the Firewall Options button
*Click the Add Application (+) button.
*Select the app you want to allow incoming connection privileges for.
*Click Add > OK and see if this works. Thanks!

    Hi Meena,
I went through all these steps - nothing happened. But then I tried to re-install parallels 13. And this time I got to dialog where it asked to sign in for account. I didn't get that first time around. So it appears that one of the steps above should be a prerequisite for a successful update.
    Thanks a lot,
    Igor

I've upgraded to Parallels 13 (nearly £35!) because it stopped working with High Sierra (MacBook Pro). It still doesn't work. I followed the instructions above, and managed to authorise Parallels, it reaches the Windows 7 screen and initialises, then 'starting', and it gets no further. VERY frustrating. What can I do?
