    Hi,

I was unable to start my boot camp virtual machine. So I tried deleting and re-adding it. It gave me this message.

    Error: PRL_ERR_DISK_FILE_OPEN_ERROR (0x80021014)

    Path: '/Users/ryannair/Documents/Parallels/Boot Camp.pvm/APPLE SSD SM0512F (disk0).hdd'

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Hello @RyanN2 Parallels Support Here! We would request you to let us know the version of Parallels Desktop are you running? Since when you have been facing this issue? Did you recently update your Mac OS X? Thanks, Shathish

Hi. I'm using Parallels 11 for Mac. I just started facing the issue, but I hadn't turn on Parallels for some time. I updated to High Sierra when the update was released.

Hi @RyanN2, Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac is not fully support on macOS High Sierra and you cannot start/run create a new BootCamp based virtual machine with the high Sierra BootCamp guest. We would suggest you to try a trial of Parallels Desktop 13 for Mac and check how it works.

So my only choice is to upgrade? Wow... a $50 cost, which is worth $200 in my currency, just to continue using a product I had already bought for a very high price.

Yes! @RyanN2, please note that Parallels Desktop 11 and 12 only partially support working in macOS High Sierra environment due to technical reasons and the following issues can occur:
    1. Inability to create a virtual machine with High Sierra guest OS
    2. Issues with creating a Boot Camp based virtual machine
    3. Graphics artifacts
    4. Coherence windows might appear under macOS ones
    5. Issues with starting a virtual machine and shared applications
To avoid these issues we recommend to upgrade to Parallels Desktop 13 or higher.
