I'm running Parallels 13.1.0 (43108) on my 2016 MacBook 12" (m5, 8G, 500G) with a copy of Win10 Home (1703 Creators Update, build 15063.540) as the guest OS. I have the recommended resources assigned. My host OS is High Sierra, current revision level, and prior to that had the beta GM of High Sierra on it. Most of what I've read in the forums revolves around getting the Win10 VM to boot or in dealing with Bootcamp. Neither of these are my pain points. I'm seeing the following:

    1. Very laggy. Even though the Parallels resources usage widow shows low CPU and steady RAM use around 50%, Win10 can't even muster opening the start menu without significant delay. Then other tasks seem to be fine. Mostly, performance is jerky and slow. Windows task manager shows reasonable loads (low CPU, memory under 50%, low disk utilization).
    2. Win10 doesn't seem to recognize the MacBook keyboard. I can't type and have it do anything. No errors, just no indication that I'm typing.

I use the guest OSes to do very simple things, i.e. open files for which there is no Mac counterpart, or to test a cross-platform app. My 2016 MacBook runs my other VM, an Ubuntu 16.04 one, quite snappily on Parallels 13.1.0.

While I realize most folks don't do this kind of thing on the MacBook 12, I've not had this kind of performance issue with Parallels prior to this. Any ideas on settings to try flipping on or off? Others seeing lag or keyboard issues on other host configurations?

I had a similar problem with my MacBook Pro (Retina 15", 2013) where I temporarily changed the video memory from 512MB to 1GB on my Windows 10 VM shortly after upgrading to 13.1.0. After this change the VM took longer to finishing booting. I would get to the desktop at usual but then appear to hang - icons for pinned apps in the taskbar would not display immediately and the start menu was not accessible. I would have to wait a few minutes and then everything would still be very sluggish. I reverted the video memory back to 512MB but the problem persisted. I also couldn't type into certain apps and OS screens, e.g. the store app, Cortana, the Settings app. I could type into a Powershell session, Notepad, Visual Studio, etc. so it seemed to only affect store apps and newer parts of the shell.

I was planning to recreate the VM from scratch but then installed the latest creators update and everything seemed to get fixed. I've since updated to 13.1.1 and everything's still ok. So it seems like similar issues to you but for different reasons. Changing the video memory in the VM settings seemed to mess things up for me after 13.1.0 but installing the creators update in the VM seemed to fix everything. Maybe try updating to 13.1.1 if you haven't already?
