When starting windows the first screen to come up is preparing automatic repair then diagnosing problem. From there it goes to restart and advanced options. From there it goes to a black screen, sometimes with cursor, sometimes without. I have tried increasing cpu memory, hard disk size, and video memory. I have tried to boot from windows cd. I have tried to boot into safe mode. I have tried to bring up task manager. I have done every option in the troubleshooting options when trying to boot up. I have tried a system restore. If the black screen has a cursor, I can get to the windows menu at top of page but nothing seems to work from that menu either. Any suggestions appreciated. I have attempted to read all knowledgebase associated with this problem but nothing seems to be working. Running windows 8 and parallels 9. Thanks

I did follow your suggestion with no success. Some of the repairs I had already tried. I was able to get this scan file info but I don't think it will be of much help or information.
