hi! i've just started with parallels today and installed a couple of virtual machines. one of them i wanted to delete; i gather you are supposed to be able to right click on it from the control panel and remove it using the menu that appears. however no menu would appear. so i instead removed the .pvm file from the Parallels folder. this is fine, but the virtual machine still appears in the list of available virtual machines in the control panel, but greyed out and with a question mark. so my question is, how do i completely remove this from the list of virtual machines? thanks for your help, jacki.
Hi @JacquelineW2 , the question mark appears on the control panel when the the virtual machine either moved or deleted. But you should be getting an option to remove if you right click on it. Please try to quit Parallels Desktop and then please quit anything that says Windows from your activity monitor and try to right click on the control centre and check if that helps. If that doesn't work, please help us with the screen shot, we will check and assist you further.
hi. i rebooted the computer and when i started parallels up the 'ghost' of the removed OS is still there in the control panel. here's a screen shot. the ubantu VM works, but in fact i can't right click on either of these from the control panel. thanks for your help i really appreciate it. jacki
Please shut down Ubuntu virtual machine (Action -> Shutdown), quit Parallels Desktop, restart Mac and Parallels Desktop (Do not start Ubuntu virtual machine) and tried removing virtual machine.
