I have a Macbook running Parallels 12 and Windows 7.
I insert a DVD into the drive and it opens in Windows Media Centre and I want it to open in MAC DVD player.
If I suspend windows 7, then the DVD opens in the MAC software, but if Windows 7 is loaded, then the Media Player is loaded.
This is frustrating as I have to suspend Windows 7 each time I load a DVD.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can stop the DVD being opened in Media Player.
    Thanks for the help
    Regards
    David E.

Hi @DavidE9, if you select the DVD Superdrive to be used in Windows, the drive literally connects to it but not to the Mac. To connect it back to the Mac, refer steps from this article and select the device again at which point you'll actually see a prompt (upper right corner) that the 'Device is now connected to the Mac'. To connect it to Windows, follow the steps suggested in the aforementioned article to connect it to Windows. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
