Using Outlook Express. Windows XP in a Parallels VM on a MacBook Pro.
Incoming mail is mail.mydomain.com Outgoing mail is smtp.cox.net.
This morning..immediately after updating to the latest version of Parallels..V12.1.3..I can no longer send e-mail. I can receive e-mails but not send.
Getting the following error when attempting to send a message.. Server Response: '550 5.1.1 <[email protected]> relaying not allowed'
Not sure if this is something at my email provider, ISP, or Parallels. I've used the same e-mail setup for ~15 years and the same setup worked with all previous versions of Parallels without incident.
Coincidence or problem with the new Parallels version?

@LarryC4 also just for check please reinstall Parallels Tools, then change network connection from shared to bridge back and force and check the issue.

Thx for the article, but it did not apply. Nothing changed on the way I used the XP with Outlook VM. The only change was the Parallels update. I did notice that the "update" didn't ask me if it was OK to install Parallels Tools; it just did it. My previous install did NOT have Tools installed..and I never used them.

I suspect that new version of Parallels did not like the way I had my e-mail set up. I used one domain for the incoming POP3 and another for the outgoing SMTP. An arrangement that had worked without issues for ~15years and multiple Windows OSes.

Or it could have been that the Parallels Tools install that did something to change settings. Not sure.

Resolved the issue by changing the SMTP outgoing address and modifying various SSL settings. In the future, I won't do updates unless forced to.

@LarryC4 thank you for the provided results.
Glad to know that the issue has been resolved, but if the issue reoccurs please uninstall Parallels Tools and check.
It will be glad to find out the root cause of this probable drivers conflict.
    Thank you once again.
