I've been using Par11 with Win10 since Win10 came out. Lately I would get brief emails touting Par12 for macOS Sierra, but since I didn't have a problem, I ignored the upgrade offer. Then, today I tried to load Win10 with Par11 and got a message that said something like "unable to find Parallels etc". After trying a couple of reboots, I gave up and kicked in $50 for Paralllels 12. After installing it, it get the same problem with Parallels not loading and now I get a popup window with instructions for a NEW Virtual Machine.

Wondering if my Win10 installaton is GONE along with my 50 bucks. I've never had a problem upgrading Parallels before. Any SIMPLE ideas as to how to get back in business. If not or I have to buy another copy of Win10, I'm going to ask for a refund of my 50 buck and be DONE with Parallels FOREVER.

I just hate wasting my time trying to fix software issues such as this. Is there a Parallels telephone number I can call about this problem?

    Thanks

    Hi StarShot,
Please locate the 'Windows_name.pvm' file, it is located in the below directory(Mac OS X Sierra):
    Users/username/Parallels/
Right click the .pvm file and choose 'Open With -> Parallels Mounter'. If it is mounted simply double-click on it to open it up.
If the virtual machine doesn't mount, you may have to create a new Windows 10 virtual machine.

I was in panic mode when my problem popped up a few hours ago. I doubt I could has "saved" it by myself. After posting, I found a Parallels support number, called it and after giving the tech access to my computer, he spent 47 minutes darting here and there before getting Parallels 12 to boot into Windows.

I'm guessing I might have clicked on something when I tried the upgrade the Par12 upgrade that bricked it. Alls well that ends well. Thanks for you reply in trying to correct my problem.

    Paul,
Not sure if this is the same problem but I am using Parallels 11 for Mac and yesterday, in my Windows 10 virtual machine, none of the apps would load. I cannot search internet or check my mail. No problems on the Mac side. The other problem is that a planning software that I was using on Windows 10 side (software not compatible with Mac) was not being recognized. When trying to open the software, I receive a "not found on server" notification. Any ideas?

Thanks. I've gone through several editions of Parallels back to maybe version 5 and never had a "blip" during the upgrade process. Up until this one, I've used Safair for the download process. However, Safari has been giving me a bit of trouble so I switched to Chrome. Using Safari, I can see the download coming in up in the right hand corner. Chrome is different in that the download progress is displayed in the lower left of the screen which I forgot about. So when I started the Par 12 download, as far as I could tell, nothing was happening. So I clicked on the DL button at least one more time and maybe in doing so, I may have corrupted the Par 12 installation upgrade file.
