Machine is a MacBook Pro, mid 2015 build. 2.8 Ghz i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD drive. Obviously, it has the Retina display.
Parallels is 12.1.1 (41491). O/S is Win7, current on patches. I use Belarc Advisor to verify that all 3d party apps are also current.
Virtual Environment: 2 processors, 7456 MB RAM.
Graphics in Virtual Environment: 768 Mb RAM, set to be BEST FOR RETINA DISPLAY. 3d Acceleration is disabled.

What we're seeing: Use of the VM creates spikes in the PRL_DISP_SERVICE, to excessive levels (well over 100% of CPU) on the host, creating elevated temps and extensive cooling fan use... causing short life when on battery. I've reviewed everything I can find on your site, and made adjustments as listed (set CPUs to 2 in VM, disabled 3d acceleration, increased video RAM, uninstalled/reinstalled Parallels Tools), and I still get similar symptoms. These efforts have improved things somewhat, but... battery life is still under 2 hours when using Parallels on what is a less than 6 month old system, with plenty of resources.

    Any other suggestions? v/r

    Please try the following steps:

    1.Quit from Parallels Desktop
    2. Open Terminal.app and

    execute these commands:

    cd /Users/username/Library/Logs/CrashReporter

    tar czf ~/Desktop/MobileDevice.tgz MobileDevice

    mv MobileDevice MobileDevice.old

where username is the name of your Mac user.

    3. Open Parallels Desktop and check the issue

Sorry, Mac OS on host is 10.12.2; when we attempt to change directory to /Logs, 'No such file or directory'.
No problem getting to /Users, then /Library, but there does not appear to be /Logs under user. ?? Logged into terminal as SU.

Looks like the issue requires a deeper investigation. Could you please generate a Problem Report ID and submit it here?
