Hi everyone. I just installed a simulator for drone working with a dongle. But it's absolutely impossible to use it : the frame rate is really much much much too slow, it display something like 7 fps and it takes a few seconds before the drone reacts to the order i give with the controller. It's moving like a turtle. Waaaaatchhhh ouuuut the ...... too late ! My computer is not so old and I'm surprised of this fact. Is there a way to improve the display stream ? My configuration : Mac os X El capitan. Parallels12.1.1 and Windows7. The software I'm using is a simulator for Yuneec drone. Best regards Alain
Hello AlainN1, you can configure video memory in virtual machine's configuration > Hardware > Video. The virtual machine has virtual memory allocated from Mac RAM. Virtual video memory almost does not depend on the Mac video card and Mac video memory. While you are operating the virtual machine, textures, and other guest video data are transmitted to the host OpenGL. OpenGL decides whether to collect this data in the host RAM or the host video memory. You may increase up to the recommended level for your VM to get rid of display stream lagging issue.
Hi Paul, thanks for helping. I 'm looking for the video memory of the virtual machine you're talking about, but don't find it. OK for the path you indicate.. until Video. I don' t have this choice in the hardware panel (see attachement). Instead I 've 2 panels on which I tried differents configurations : - On the "CPU and memory" panel I tried until 3 processors and up to 3072 of memory. Hyperviseur : I tried both Apple and Parallels. - On the "Graphic panel" I went to 2048 M° with acceleration DirectX10 /vertical synchronisation and also desactivated. In spite of these differents settings, it doesn't change anything on the display stream. Something I'm missing somewhere ? If possible, do you have a screenshot of what settings you would advise ? Best regards Alain
Please shut down your virtual machine and change the Hypervisor from "Apple" to "Parallels", start your virtual machine again to check the fps rate.
hmm... that's what i said in my former message : i tried both hypervisor Apple and Parallels.. and it doesn't change anything. Alain
Dear AlainN1, thanks for the confirmation on the hypervisor. Please reinstall Parallels Tools (From Action->Reinstall Parallels Tools) and let us know how it works.
