I have purchased Parallels 12 on my new Mac and have downloaded it, but when I try to activate it with my product key, it does not work at all. Also it is in a box that says 'Buy' or 'Free trial' yet I have already paid for parallels. How do I get this thing going please?

You can also see and option to enter the key on the bottom right. You can also refer to this article.

Thanks Ajith but it is not letting me put my key numbers in. Or do I have to do the trial version first??

You will be able to enter the activation key. If you have issues try to quit Parallels Desktop and relaunch it then activate.

Thanks Ajith, I have quit the Parallels desk top and re downloaded it and then installed it again, and still it just takes me to the trial version with no where to put my access key code in. Would it be because I registered my email address and password when I was in the trial mode and not after I had purchased it? if so what do I do now? I have spent so many hours on this already, I have been speaking to AppleCare for 2 hours and we thought by re downloading it I would be able to use it, but no, it's still in trial mode. Do I have to download windows first? or using the Virtual machine eliminates the need for Windows? please help me.
    Many thanks,
    Annie

We request you to share a screenshot with us where you are unable to enter the activation key.
