I have a 16 MBP I7 2.7, 16Gb 500Gb SSD running OSx 10.12. I purchased Parallels 10 a while back and for the life of me, could not get Windows 10 to work without maxing out the CPU. After reading the forums and trying every single KB article instruction, I decided as a long time Paralells fan to leave it be, use bootcamp and let Parallels catch up a bit. While very inconvenient, I thought it would be addressed and fixed by now. It's been well over a YEAR...

Last week I purchased version 12 with high hopes that this would have been addressed. Fresh Windows 10 install. Nope.. Another $50 down the drain. Not to mention the last upgrade was completely worthless as well. This screw up is on me.. I should have read more before wasting the money, TWICE. Buyer beware.

I have tried every forum suggestion and KB including, the test VM (116263), boot flags for disabling USB (338065), disabling Windows sharing, stopping the Windows update services, removing network preference files from the Library as well as countless hours scouring Google for a possible fix. This research goes not only for this version (12), but for 10 as well. I skipped the one in the middle one due to frustration.

I have tried this on clean installs, upgrades, every combination possible.

Everything I have read is that you have to disable Windows to a minimum to function.. If that's the case, then why does bootcamp function correctly? Even when I do that, it runs at anywhere from 90 to 400% CPU usage and maxes out the fans..

If I'm missing anything, I'm totally open to yet ANOTHER suggestion as to how to make this software function correctly, but at this point I'm not holding out any hope.. It's been almost two years.. I would think that functionality would be paramount over aesthetics , but perhaps not.

Pardon my frustration but at this point, I just want half of the money back for what I spent on the last two versions.

Sorry for the trouble. Can you attach output of the following commands?
    sample prl_client_app
    sudo spindump

So.. I just installed Virtual Box after removing the latest Parallels version.. I don't think the Mac Book fans can handle any more overheating and had to buy Apple Care to keep things going..

Just downloaded a clean Windows 10.iso and installed it.. It took seven minutes.. (Embarrassingly fast compared to what I recently deleted)
In the host, I ran iTunes, and occasionally Facetime while installing. (Just to test the CPU..) The client runs brilliantly with very little overhead.. Never overheated once. Fans never went on..

Can someone from the company please explain why Parallels can't do this? At all... Even a little bit? (The image below is with a Win 10 VM running at idle..) I did the same with parallels and it overwhelmed my laptop to the point where I needed to shut it down and let it cool before I restarted it.

I apologize, but for the LITERAL hundreds of hours trying to make your software work, I would like a refund for my latest purchase of Parallels.

It does not work.... At all...

Thank you for your effort and consideration..

    Steve
