I have a new iMac (2.4Ghz, 2GB ram) that I am running Parallels with a Vista VM. I noticed immediately after creation of the VM that both the Video portion of the tools was disabled along with the mouse. It is running the basic VGA video driver. In this config i can use the VM either in a window or full screen reliably but must continually release the mouse (in window mode). I have tried numerous times to uninstall and reinstall the Tools both in Safe mode and out of it. Each time it all installs fine. Upon restart however the entire Mac freezes usually about midway throught the boot. Sometimes after a reinstall I am able to one-time use Coherence but it generally locks up soon thereafter. Only a hard reset will restart machine. I have tried doing custom installs and deselecting all the Sharing options. No luck. As i said this has happened since day one through both final releases of Ver 3 and intermediate betas. I would really like to have a reliable working version with coherence.
    Here's a portion of the system.log:

Everytime this happens the last entry is always involving /dev/disk2s1?

Please provide me with information about your iMac's hardware and addtitional applications you have installed on Mac side.
    Do you use Boot Camp?
Do you use any fire-wire devices on your Mac?
Did Parallels Desktop work earlier on this Mac?

Standard iMac 24 with the new ATI Radeon HD2600. Do not use Boot camp, or any firewire devices. I installed Parallels within a few days of getting the new mac and after installing Vista VM i noticed that the Video and Mouse portions of the tools were disabled (from the very first time). That was back with the older 3.0 build which i forget the number of. I assumed it was a video driver problem since the iMac was a brand new model and purchased the product hoping that updates would fix the problem. As i stated i have tried at least 10 times uninstalling and reinstalling tools both in Safe mode and normal. Immediately after the install and reboot the freeze up occurs. Twice i have actually gotten to use the VM in coherence and noticed that all the tools were enabled. Then it promptly froze again.
As for now, I am resigned to use a snapshot that is of the VM prior to reinstall of new tools that is the original config (i.e. Video and Mouse disabled). It works reliably but as i said it's only full screen or windowed with mouse captured. Also, as you can imagine the video performance is poor in Vista since it is using the standard vanilla VGA adapter driver.
