Upgrade won't accept my earlier version product key

    Hi.
    I recently upgraded my Apple computer's OS and when I did my previous version of Parallells stopped working. I thought today I'd get the upgrade for my new OS 10.9.5. I selected upgrade then went to Pay Pal and paid the $49.00 required. When I downloaded the program and put in its product key I was asked for the product key of the version I was upgrading from. I did and it was not accepted. Instead, I received only the options of "buy" or "trial". I've been trying to look for the answer to this and can only think that my pervious version of Parallells 5.0 can't be upgraded for some reason. If that turns out to be the case fine but what about the $49.00 I've paid for the upgrade? If my previous version turns out to be too old to upgrade I'll buy the new, but how do I apply the $49.00 payment I've already made? (As for that earlier version 5.0 I have been able to see that I had registered it when I bought it five years ago and I have been inserting its correct product number.)

    Thanks. Got the message there which was the request: "Please provide us the e mail address registered with Parallels, so that we can check it for you". I did that a day or two ago but have yet to receive a further response.

    Hi I'm having a similar problem. Just upgraded to Yosemite and bought new version of parallels. The registration key they sent won't work and the options seem to take me round and round. The thing expires on the 27th so am very frustrated! How complicated does it have to be????

    Same issue here. Purchased the upgrade and realized that it didn't work for Parallels 7 only after I had purchased the upgrade and tried to activate the upgrade. Please advise.

    I am now experiencing the same issue!!! I just bought the upgrade for Desktop 11 and it takes the upgrade key but when i enter my old key for Desktop 7 it loads for a split second likes it deciding what to do with it but then gives me neither the green check or the red x. This is very frustrating as i have help off on upgrading for a long time to prevent myself from ever having to go though these problems.

This is very frustrating as i have help off on upgrading for a long time to prevent myself from ever having to go though these problems.

    Hello,
    I have also problems to use the purchased upgrade key. Previous version key is not valid (a year old version). Money was withdrawn from my card, but no Parallels for me :-( I submitted a support ticket many days ago. No reply from your support. I have been your customer for many years, but this is really testing my patience. Virtualbox looks very tempting :-(

    We can see that you have purchased a Pro upgrade and now you have renewed that subscription but still you are facing activation issues. We suggest you install Parallels Desktop 11 activate it then install Parallels Desktop 12 and check.

    This worked. Thank you for your reply. However I'm not sure why I needed to perform this maneuver, but nevertheless my Parallels is up and running again. Thanks! Not converting to Virtualbox :)
