I got Parallels so I can run WordPerfect. I recently got a new Mac, so I had to "update" Parallels. Now parallels has started messing with my conversions to PDF. I tell WP to export to PDF. Everything seems to be going normally, then Parallels jumps in and interrupts the process with a message that says "converting postscript file" (why would it want to do that?), then it insists on trying to print it (at this point, I appear to be in the Mac print tool). I can then get it to print to PDF, but it is a nuisance since several extra steps are required and the file name and directory information are lost. So what used to be dead easy is now hard. I have had the export to PDF work fine since getting the upgrade. It waited to break until I was out of the tech support period. The problem does not appear to be with WordPerfect. How can I fix this?
Hi Michael12345, Please try the below steps and see if that helps 1. Go to Virtual Machine configuration 2. Hardware > Shared Printers > uncheck " Show page setup options before printing " Thanks, Guna
Thank you, Guna. That worked and it looks fine now. I did have some trouble actually following your instructions. Not your fault; without the configuration link you provided, I would have been lost. Parallels seems to have put real effort into making their interface opaque.
Hi Michael12345, Glad it worked! Feel free to reach us anytime. We are here to help you. Thanks, Guna
It is broken again. I get a message: "error initializing output device". Looks like it thinks the device is a printer. I checked to make sure that "share printers" is unchecked. So what can I do?
