I first installed windows xp with HDD space allocated at 32GB out of my 80GB hd. I have since resized the vm drive to 10GB. However I have been unable to recover the other 22GB on my MAC harddrive. Where did my 22GB's go?? anybody know??

Use the Parallels Compressor to reclaim the space: Actions > Run Parallels Compressor

I already tried that. When I first recreated the vm, i had about 12GB of free space on my mac. When I finished recreating the vm to 10GB, I only recovered 2GB on my MAC hd, even after using the compressor

You have an expandable disk that installs 32 gb but not use it .....

32 gb is the max you can use. The more you use xp the bigger your disk gets.
So you didn't loose 22 gb.

I did have 32GB expanding, but once i recreated the drive, 10GB expanding is all that shows up on the vm side. In windows the hd space is 10GB, but I still only recovered 2GB on the main MAC hd side.

2GB sounds about right. I think everything is working properly.

Have you tried starting a trouble ticket with them? They have been extremely responsive, and even the latest ticket which was a little less so has been responsive.

It is not a big problem for Mac data recovery software which I had used last time when I got such type of problem in my Mac OS. You can trust on this software as it has recovered my data fully. I would suggest you to use this software and get free of your worries as this powerful tool can recover all file versions of Mac OS X including Mac OS X 10.3, 10.4 and 10.5. And offers support for FAT, HFS, HFS+, HFSX and HFS Wrapper file systems based hard drive volumes of Mac operating system.
