Linux Mint 18 Cinnamon 64-bit lagging graphics

    It is an ongoing problem. I don't think Parallels will resolve this issue some time soon (though I'd expect an update to cover for the recent Fedora 25 release).
    Other than that, I am still using Linux Mint 18 MATE edition. Whilst it is running nicely, I prefer Cinnamon.
    I've had a go at using VMware Fusion 8.5 (trial), and Linux Mint 18 Cinnamon works very well on that and runs buttery smooth. VMware even supports OpenGL 3.3, so that is worth noting.
    VMware is a tad less responsive than Parallels when running other VMs (in my opinion, but only by a margin). What I do appreciate about VMware is that their guest driver for Linux is Open Source (open-vm-tools, https://github.com/vmware/open-vm-tools) and is available on the Ubuntu repository.
