Bonjour, I have reinstalled my Parallels Desktop 12 for Mac Pro Edition from scratch on which I'm running Windows 10 on it. When I shutdown my VM, it closes normally but my VM Window is still on even when I click on the red button (close button) on the top left of my VM Window. It just sits there not closing. I've checked and I still have "Parallels Service (not responding)" in the Activity Monitor. Are these 2 problems related? Thanks. PM
Hi @Pierre-MichelT Are you looking to shut down your Windows Virtual Machine by clicking on the close button on the top left of your Window Virtual Machine ? If so, please adjust the virtual machine configuration & follow the below steps 1. Uninstall Parallels Desktop 12 for Mac (Use PDRemove.zip) 2. Run Repair Disk permission/First Aid 3. Restart the Mac & Reinstall Parallels Desktop 12
Are you looking to shut down your Windows Virtual Machine by clicking on the close button on the top left of your Window Virtual Machine ? If so, please adjust the virtual machine configuration & follow the below steps 1. Uninstall Parallels Desktop 12 for Mac (Use PDRemove.zip) I already did that as I tried to explain in my original message. I still could not close my VM Window despite the fact that I reinstall PD 12. 2. Run Repair Disk permission/First Aid I'm running El Capitan still and it says in the documentation: Beginning with OS X El Capitan, system file permissions are automatically protected. It's no longer necessary to verify or repair permissions with Disk Utility. 3. Restart the Mac & Reinstall Parallels Desktop 12 I still have the same issue. Problem NOT solved. Could that be because my VM Disk is stored on an external NTFS USB portable drive?
