When I start m VM, windows started to open, then the screen goes black, except for the menu bar across the top, and seems to freeze. I can close it from the menu bar and try again but the same thing happens. I would probably try to repair windows but I cannot open it to do so.

any ideas as to what the problem is?

Have you gotten any help with this yet? I am having a similar problem. I've tried to install Windows 10 (from USB) on a new Parallels 12 installation, and even though it looks like it's progressing fine, at the final stage where it restarts, Parallels Wizard gets hung up on a black screen. Need help!!

    Hey guys,
Please stop virtual machine from Mac menu Actions > Stop http://bit.ly/1OfR3td then start Windows virtual machine then check how it works.

I seem to,have resolved the problem. My windows user account was set to sign on using my MS user/password account. I chenged it to local sign on and the performance, while still not great, is improved to,where I can use windows.

    Hi,
To fix it, do the following:
Connect this Virtual Machine HDD to another Windows VM that can boot ( Configure > Hardware > "+" (plus button) > Hard Disk and point to the effected VM hard disk).
Make sure that boot order is not changed.
Uncheck newly added Hard disk in "Boot order" list.
    1.Start Virtual Machine.
2.Go to Windows File Explorer (My Computer) and find newly added Hard disk.
3.Right-click on it > Properties > Tools > Check now...
4.Select two options and press start.
After completion, shutdown the Virtual Machine and start the original one.
