P12 and windows 10. MacOS: Sierra

All of sudden, for no apparent reason, I cannot open the programs when they are pinned to the start menu. I CAN open them from the Applications folder, and from the program list.

When i try to start quicken from the 'pinned' menu, I get a message telling me to go the folder where the executable is and change privilege from Deny to Access. when I did that, I found that the folder was already set to access.

I don't know what I could have done to cause this issue. I've been preparing to move to another Mac but have not done that yet. I made a copy of my VM and back it up, but I never touched any settings. I did disconnect my time machine drive and plugged another one in to make a fresh backup , but never touched the program or data drive.

What happened and how can I fix it?

    Thanks.

  2. Hi, please start your Windows 10 virtual machine command prompt as "Run as administrator" and execute "sfc /scannow" and once the scan completes the execute "chkdsk" once check disk competes then restart your Windows 10 virtual machine and let us know if that makes any changes.

Well, I don't know what happened but it is running normally now. I did shut the computer off last night so maybe I reset something in doing that, clear some junk out of memory or something, but anyway, it is working normally now,.

    Thanks.

Problem has returned. How do I start the VM as administrator to run chkdsk?

  5. Hi, you don't have to start your virtual machine as administrator instead you can start CMD prompt as "Run as Administrator" by right click on your Windows 10 start menu and select Command Prompt (Admin).
