    Parallels 12.0.1 (41296)
    Windows 10 Professional 32 bit Build 10240

Upgraded to Parallels 12 early last week. No problems. All working fine. On Friday got the notification in Windows to update to the Windows 10 Anniversary Edition. This ran through all the way to the end and then advised me it could not continue as there was a problem with the file prl_tg.sys

The installation goes all the way through and then when Windows boots it comes up with -

    Recovery

Your PC/Device needs to be repaired.

The operating system could not be loaded because of a critical driver is missing or contains errors.

    File:WINDOWS\System32\drivers\prl_tg.sys
    Error code: 0xc000007b

At this point everything is locked and you have to use CTL & ALT to get the cursor moving.

Rebooting a couple of times eventually restores the previous operating system.

As a footnote to this I have just updated my Windows 10 64 bit Enterprise version to the latest build 1607 and this has gone faultlessly with Parallels 12.

There are quite a lot of possibles with the 32bit Pro failure. Someone commented that the error was common with video issues so it could be DirectX. And another was the fact it was 32 bit.

Parallels please help. Recompiling prl_tg.sys with a sha2 certificate might be a solution.

I have tried to update to the Anniversary Edition many times and they have all failed. The last Program ID was 116527852.
As I was getting fed up, in the end I read the all the logs associated with this ID. I noticed that there was reference to Parallel Tools 11 which seemed odd as I was running 12. I had pressed the button on reinstall Parallels Tools several times before but it had no effect on the update.

In the end I manually installed Parallel Tools. I then restarted the update and it went all the way through. SO FIXED!
