First time user of Parallels. I've installed it and started the trial.
My install is 'loading' Windows, via Boot Camp. But, I can't figure out how to setup Parallels to use Time Machine for backups. And, the Backup settings for my VM (Windows 8.1), is greyed out. Thus can't select anything. In Time Machine, I can't exclude the Boot Camp drive that is being used for Windows, to thus allow it to backup.

    Sorry, confused. Thanks in advance.

Also the SmartGuard field in Backup is greyed out. Thus I can't select it...

Anyone? I don't seem to have the VM running, yet the SmartGuard option is still greyed out...

No need to worry. Apparently, if you use Boot Camp and then import it into Parallels, then you can't use the 'Smart' option. But, I also learned that regardless, the .PVM file simply needs to be backed up via Time Machine. If something happens to my VM, I'd simply have to restore a previous version...

    Yep, I'm learning here ;)
