Clicking any mailto link in a Mac Browser opens new Windows Outlook window

Hi support
I had an issue where all of a sudden, clicking on a mailto link within Chrome on my Mac would open:
1.) Safari with the address bar with the Mailto link
2.) a new Windows Outlook window
Upon shutting down the newly opened Outlook Window, my Outlook crashes. It never opens a New Email window. I've checked all the VM-> Configure to ensure that Web/Email properties are correct and Email is set to open in Windows where Outlook is my default.
I found a thread saying Reinstalling Parallels Tools would fix it. I tried it and it resolved it but now it has reappeared. The only change i have made was allocate more memory 2GB to the Windows VM.
Please help as this decreases productivity
