I have a Windows 10 VM running on Parallels Desktop 10. I didn't really want to upgrade to 11 because I didn't see any need but recently I wanted to run an Android emulator on my windows VM because there's no mac version of this particular emulator. Emulator runs slower than molasses in January. First thing they recommend to troubleshoot, is to make sure virtualization is enabled in BIOS. Well as soon as I enable nested virtualization Windows won't boot. It goes into a bootloop and then to repair options and basically just won't start at all. All the troubleshooting I find online for this is basically like "update parallels, update windows, etc" which is basically useless (and already made sure was the case before even googling). So my question is whether upgrading to Parallels Desktop 11 would fix this problem? I was kind of holding out for either a new computer or Desktop 12 before investing any more in Parallels but maybe this forces me to upgrade now. Assuming upgrading fixes this, and assuming that desktop 12 is coming out pretty soon (VMWorld in a month?) is there any upgrade protection OTHER THAN the subscription pro version? I mean I upgrade on the 5th and the new version is release 9/1 would I get a free upgrade?
Hi @ErikK Here are few questions to help you better on this issue 1. What is the version of your Mac OS X ? 2. Could you please share a few screenshot of the error message with us? 3. What is the name of the Android emulator that you are trying to run on Windows 10? You may install a trial version of Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac Pro Editon as outlined in this article and keep us posted.
