I'm running KIS MAC 2016 on my host and KIS 2016 Windows on the guest virtual machine. I'm looking for some direction on the optimal configuration for KIS on the host/guest combination and I imagined that others have a similar configuration as I do. Does running it both on the host and the guest create redundant overhead? Should certain exclusions be enabled? One thing I have noticed is that Outlook will perform slower when KIS is enabled on the host as well - particularly with emails that have larger attachments on them. Any advice is much appreciated!
Hi GaryL5, Basically Anti Virus program installed on Mac side will not have any effect on Windows and vice versa as both operating systems posses different platform & configuration. Anti Virus program designed for Mac will only monitor & protect your Mac OS but not the guest. This is obviously applicable for Windows Anti Virus program too. Which is the very reason antivirus programs are recommended to be installed on both host & guest OS. So to sum it up, there are no reason to have optimal settings between Anti Virus software installed on host & guest as they will never have conflict. However, you can refer this link to increase the performance of your Windows & check how your Outlook performs. Note : Make sure you do not run any other Anti Virus software either on your Mac or Windows. Running two Anti Virus programs can make OS unstable and severely decrease performance. Thanks, Dhana
