Sentinel dongle (For a windows program) on Parallels 11

hi I'm looking to buy a MBP and need to occasionally run Windows and some programs that require a sentinel security dongle.
I see that it worked with parallels 7 (and then 8), however I would be very grateful if someone can advise it will work with parallels 11 and if anything in particular was needed.

Yes, it should run in Parallels Desktop 11 with out any problem, but just make sure you install a Windows operating system with Parallels Desktop which is compatible to run sentinel security dongle. Also please refer to this article to know about the system requirements of Parallels Desktop 11.

 

Hi . Ive just purchases an iMac. been windows forever .
installed parallels 11 and windows 10 with no problems, but i have cad cam software which requires a sentinel dongle (licence file ) .
when i plug it in to usb port it lights up and get the option on the mac , either windows or mac.
on the windows side of things in device manger it has located it in usb but says this device cannot start ( code 10)
Any help would be appreciated.

could you try connecting the USB directly to the Windows. From Mac menu select Devices->External Devices->your USB dongle.
Let us know how it works.

I would suggest you to install all Windows updates. Then try using connecting the USB from a COM port. Let us know if it works.

 

Same USB Dongle here and works on Win7/Parallels 11. It should work on Win10 too I think...

 

Would think so .. Still not cracked it , installed all updates on windows 10 and still the same .
