    Hello,

I had a Windows 7 Boot Camp partition on an older Mac for several years. A few months ago, I bought a new Mac, and I decided to convert the old Mac's Bootcamp partition into a Parallels VM in order to run it on my newer Mac. Not a VM that uses a Bootcamp partition, but just a pure, Parallels-only VM. My question is: Now that it is strictly a VM and not a bootable partition, what features can I uninstall from Windows 7 that Bootcamp had originally installed onto the Windows 7 OS? How do I go about uninstalling these things?

Thank you for a moment of your time.

    -Curtis

    Hey @CurtisC2,
To import BootCamp partition to Parallels virtual machine, please follow this steps.
Then to move a virtual machine to a new Mac refer this.

Hey Raj, thanks, but I already did all of that. My question is: What installs can I remove that Boot Camp had installed onto the partition before it was turned into a VM? You know how when Windows is first installed, Boot Camp installs a bunch of stuff? I am just curious as to what I can now remove from Windows now that it is no longer a Boot Camp partition.

    Hi @CurtisC2,
You could remove any installed drivers such as display drivers and network adapters because Parallels Tools will install all the necessary drivers. Apart from the drivers, there is no specific application that might conflict or affect the Parallels VM. Could you follow the steps below to provide the list of applications in your Windows and we will check if there is any application that can be removed,
    1. Click start and type : Run
    2. In the run command box, type : appwiz.cpl
    3. Take screenshots of the list of applications on your Windows.
Let us know if you have a additional questions.

Hi @CurtisC2, I can only find the Windows driver package that can be removed. Since there are a lot of those drivers, it is recommended to have a backup of your Windows Virtual Machine before you delete the driver package. Refer to this article to know about backing up the Virtual Machine. Let us know if you need any assistance.
