Ok- I have read every forum on this and still can't get it to work. When I go into the control center the area to expand the VM disc size is grayed out. There is a yellow warning at the top that says you need to resume the VM and then shut it down in order to make changes. So when I resume the VM and shut it down, The control center window disappears, and is not accessible. When I resume the machine- of course same error is there. I also tried through the admin tools in the start menu, but "extend" is grayed out there too. I feel like an idiot- but maybe I am not understand the VM? I can't work in Visio anymore since 64gb is not enough for me to save any more files (and I only have ten or so.
Hello DavidW10, To get into the virtual machine configuration please follow the steps below: -> Shutdown or stop your Windows virtual machine from Actions(on Apple menu bar) > Shutdown. -> select the Parallels icon on the right-hand side top of your Mac screen -> Configure. -> select Hardware -> Hard Disk 1 and follow the steps to expand the Hard Disk.
Thanks for the quick reply. When I quit parallels using the menu bar icon at the bottom of my screen, icon on the right hand top of the screen disappears. The icon is only there when parallels is running. When i do right click on it (when parallels is running), the configuration choice is there- but same result with greyed out choice to expand the drive.
