Is it normal for parallels to ask for your system password every time your start-up and shut-down windows? At times I would enter my password and click ok and then it would ask me another time. Anyone have this happen to them? Thanks. Dorian
Is there a way of stopping this then? Or better, how do I use JUST Parallels instead of using BootCamp partition, this will also let me use all Parallels Tools?
To stop using a BootCamp parition, while Parallels is open on the config screen select File -> New and then set-up a new VM without selecting BootCamp. You will need your Windows install CD. There is no safe way of stopping the requirement of the password.
Well, use Parallels transporter... Start you BootCamp VM and then use Transporter to get it 'transported' to a virtual disk. Then you would just have a clone of your BC.
How would you delete the old boot camp when you transport the old one? Your saying that the transporter tool will copy all data so that I don't have the install windows again? Thanks
It should. Double check before you assume it does. Then, you use the BootCamp Setup Assistant to remove the BC partition.
In the Transporter Help File I found this sentence: Warning. Parallels Transporter Agent does not support migration from Boot Camp partitions on Mac. Does that mean than I cannot actually use Transporter to copy everything in my BootCamp partition and to be able use only Parallels VM? Any help would be appreciated.
Hmm... I thought it would work... I know Acronis True Image does. Image the BC, then install Windows and restore the BC to it.
