Whenever I switch to windows, I hear a beep. This only happens when 'mouse keys' is turned active, which I have active most of the time.

I tried turning the system beep to none; this had no effect.

The beep is either high-low or low-high, depending on whether num lock is on or off. I believe that it may be alerting me to the fact that mouse keys is on, or off, as mouse keys is controlled by num lock, but that's only a guess.

I need this beeping to stop! Turning off the volume on the computer is not a good long term solution for me.

    I am using: OS X 10.10.5, Parallels 11.0.1, Windows 10

Hi. I have the same problem. I can switch the beep off by going to Settings -> Ease of access -> Mouse keys When I switch the option "use numeric keypad to move around" to Off, the beep is gone. However after a reboot of the vm of connecting ANY device to my Mac (not the vm) it switches to On again. I hope this helps, at least a bit. RPGC if you've found a real, more permanent solution, please let me know.

    Hi,
Start virtual machine, go to Start > in the search box type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter (return).
Expand Sound, video and game controller and make sure that the is no exclamation mark and the adapter is called Parallels Audio Controller.
If these requirements are not met:
right-click the adapter > Uninstall. If the pop-up appear, choose there Delete the driver software for this device.
Restart VM and reinstall Parallels Tools (in Parallels Desktop top menu bar go to Virtual Machine -> Reinstall Parallels Tools).
    If these requirements are met:
In Parallels Desktop top bar: Virtual Machine -> Take a snapshot (to have an ability to revert all the further changes).
Shut down Windows virtual machine, open its configurations (http://kb.parallels.com/en/117287 ), go to Hardware -> Boot Order -> and paste in Boot Flags box:
devices.audio.clock=1 and then check how it works.

    Hi,
I've tried the bootflag, but unfortunately no success. It makes no difference.

Hi FrankH4, please follow the workaround:
Open Start menu > Settings > select Ease of Access > Keyboard.
Make sure Toggle Keys function is turned off and let us know how it works.

This is an old thread, but is the latest I can find on this.
This is happening when I boot my Boot Camp partition using Windows 10 and Parallels 15.
Toggle keys are all off, the num lock thing is off, the boot flag is set as described. Parallels Audio driver is loaded instead of HD Audio.
    It makes Parallels completely unusable.
    What can I do??

Hello, do you have the same issue with beep noise? When does the issue appear, after starting any specific app?

Got it to work. There was an additional kind of "keys" option on another screen that I had to turn off. It was mentioned in another thread.
