Hello, I have a windows to go usb that runs perfectly fine when I boot it in my mac but when I follow these instructions I'm left with waiting for USB screen and nothing happens. The reference link: http://kb.parallels.com/en/115155 Attached is the configuration and the messages I get when I start the VM. Thanks!
Hello Damian1, Please follow steps suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/123364 to install Windows 10 from USB & let us know how it goes.
Thank you but it doesn't work with my VHD... more so, when trying some alternative solutions found in forums and internet, Parallels deleted my VHD without even prompting so. I'll be out of Parallels for a long time after this. For anyone with a Windows 10 USB bootable I advice trying to use Parallels as it might destroy the VHD file. There should be an easy set up option to start with and whatever gets deleted should at least prompt so.
I would be interested in this outcome. I'm not sure the solution above is right. The solution refers to installing a version of windows. Windows to go (W2Go) is an already installed working version of windows on a usb device. I have a functional USB WindowsToGo workspace that boots no problem on a PC & Mac, yet it will not in Parallels even having followed their own instructions. Error is : Boot Failed: EFI Harddrive. Boot Failed: DVD/CD ROM PXE.DCHP
Does W2Go create UEFI base Windows instance? You can try to uncheck "EFI Boot" option and try to boot VM using legacy BIOS.
That doesn't work either! Its like Parallels can't see the usb drive although it knows its connected. EDIT....Moved my query to my own thread > https://forum.parallels.com/threads/another-running-windows-togo-on-parallels.336398/
